Owls MCC will be operating a control point for the National Road Rally 2012

The National Road Rally is an event which first started in 1933 and is now organised by the ACU, the BMF and able assisted for many years by MENCAP.
The event is classified as a ‘navigational scatter rally’ which is defined as a rally with numerous controls but with no specific route: in other words, each participant works out their own route. The riders can go for awards travelling anywhere between 200 to 540 miles. Some prizes are donated by MENCAP who benefit from sponsorship by the participating riders. It is open to riders who hold a full driving license for motor cycles and 3 wheeled vehicles classed as motor cycles.

Owls MCC are organising and will be operating the Wigan control point. This will be based at the BP Crow Orchard Service station, just off Junction 27 of the M6.
The BP service station, which is open 24 hours for petrol, has been good enough to allow us to use a section of the forecourt as a base for the control point.

The rally starts at 2pm on Satuday 30th June and finishes at 10am on Sunday 1st July. This takes advantage of the long days and short nights of summer.
For more information about the rally and for an entry form, see the National Road Rally 2012 website.
